Engineering Manager at EPAM

Started at EPAM as a Software Engineering Team Leader, and after one year, promoted to Engineering Manager.

As an Engineering Manager, Focus on two main areas:

• Project/Delivery management: Overseeing a client program at EPAM with five parallel work streams, and several internal initiatives.
• Resource unit management: Leading a unit of over 50 people.

Responsibilities:

• Align requirements for the current tech stack in projects, including training, skill development, career progression, and team cohesion.
• Oversee hiring processes and manage compensation.
• Lead system design efforts.
• Engage in customer communication within the organization and gather project requirements.
• Actively participate in product development by evaluating and assessing proposed solutions.
• Supervise the planning, execution, and completion of development projects to ensure timelines and budgets are met.
• Allocate resources and establish priorities to achieve project goals.
• Collaborate closely with Solution Architects on technical architecture, implementation, and ongoing support.

Key Achievements:

• Organized delivery process for enterprise EPAM client (five streams) and built R&D for Junior Program inside the client account.
• Organized a program (+8 projects and 2 R&D AI projects) to develop applications for non-profits and governmental organizations within the ESG and ESDE departments across the TGUKKA region (Turkey, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia). This program enhances company interactions with these organizations and offers project-based training for students, junior specialists, and those exploring new roles.
• Developed and managed the hiring process of Junior Developers in the TGUKKA region (Turkey, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia), focusing on JavaScript practice. Starting from developing the funnel (test task, questionnaire, topics, and markers for technical interviews), to working with Resource Managers, staffing for projects, and further growth of Junior Developers.
• Business development of an office in Uzbekistan. Directly involved in pre-sales and development of proposals for a number of banks in Uzbekistan and launching these projects after signing contracts.
• Developed and managed an in-house contractor in the education domain for ESDE (EPAM School of Digital Engineering), which develops software for Universities under EPAM control (three Universities and four UpSkill Schools). At the moment there are three independent systems in live and two in the development process.

Senior Software Engineer at UzKassa

January 2019 — February 2021

Specialized in developing POS and WMS systems for B2B, Initially serving as a key developer and later transitioning into a leadership role as a Front-End Team Lead. My expertise encompassed the entire front-end development process, from working closely with business analysts (BA), product owners (PO), and UI/UX designers during the discovery phase to estimation, development, code review, and release to customers.
