Senior Java/Kotlin Backend Developer (HR Tech)

We are currently looking for a Senior Kotlin Developer (or Java Dev ready to switch to Kotlin) to join our team. By joining Skyro, you’ll not only influence our technology roadmap but also help shape the future of fintech in emerging markets.

What you will do

As a Senior Kotlin Backend Developer, you will play a key role in developing and enhancing services for HR management from scratch. We are also flexible regarding projects, so be sure you will have an opportunity to change it in the future. Your responsibilities will include:

Core Development

• Build backend services using Kotlin (Spring or Micronaut).

Collaborate Cross-Functionally

• Work closely with business analysts to refine requirements and understand business logic.
• Discuss architectural decisions with the team and analysts and ensure robust implementation.

Maintain High Standards

• Participate in code reviews, optimise performance, and enhance the stability of production systems.
• Continuously improve scalability and security of services to handle growing customer demands.

What you should have

Experience

• At least 3 years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin (or extensive Java experience with readiness to transition to Kotlin). Nice to have: experience with process orchestration (e.g., BPMN).
• Experience of work on international projects.

Tech Stack Proficiency

• Proficient with Kotlin, Spring/Micronaut, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, Kubernetes, Kibana, and GitLab.
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD, container orchestration, and cloud infrastructure.

Language Skills

• English and Russian proficiency at B2 level or higher to collaborate with international colleagues and review documentation.

Soft Skills

• Self-driven with the ability to make informed decisions independently.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Experience with agile methodologies, such as Kanban, is a plus.
