The people of the Global South will now have the ability to freely message anyone, trade around 500 payment methods on its marketplace, and make payments peer-to-peer—all with a Bitcoin wallet that acts as a store of value.

Our Wallet Team is looking for a Lead PHP Engineer.

What To Do

• Lead and manage development team (6-8 engineers)
• Coordinating and overseeing the development process
• Ensuring that projects are delivered on time - setting priorities, monitoring progress, identifying and addressing technical risks
• Providing technical direction, reviewing code, and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices
• Participate in hiring process
• Developing new features and business logic in PHP 8.x
• Supporting current services
• Designing and implementing architecture
• Implementing external integrations with third-party products
• Conducting code reviews
• Bug fixing
• Code coverage with Unit and Functional tests
• Participation in team events: daily meetings, grooming, retrospectives, company-wide gatherings
• Collaboration with other teams on work tasks

We Need

• +3 years of commercial PHP development experience
• Strong knowledge of PHP (8.x) and understanding of object-oriented programming
• Practical experience with PHP frameworks like Symfony / Laravel
• Frontend experience with React / Redux / Typescript
• Proficiency with version control systems like Git
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB (optional)
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases, including complex query creation and optimization, and designing simple to moderately complex databases
• Experience with Nginx, Redis, Kafka
• Working with high-traffic systems (400+ RPS)
• Knowledge of design patterns and understanding of SOLID principles
• Working with REST, JSON
