DevOps Engineer

EWA Learn languages is an international company, with headquarter in Singapore. We have been developing our EdTech app (iOS&Android) since 2017, with over 70 million users registered on our platform . Our app has been translated into 37 languages.

We help people worldwide learn languages in an effective, easy, and fun way — through snippets of popular and beloved movies, TV shows, and memes.

Now we’re looking for an DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Deployment and Updating of Self-Hosted Solutions: Deploying new and updating existing self-hosted services, as well as integrating them. We prefer cloud-native solutions, but anything that doesn’t fit this definition is deployed in Kubernetes.
• Code Delivery and Development Support: Ensuring the code delivery process and supporting development, including managing CI/CD pipelines and automating processes.
• Infrastructure Alerting: Setting up alerts for the infrastructure both for preventive measures and in response to incidents.

Required Skills:

• At least 1 year of experience in a DevOps Engineer role.
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm: Experience with creating and managing containers, deploying and scaling applications in Kubernetes clusters.
• Experience with CI/CD Tools: Knowledge of GitLab, setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines, and integrating with GitOps for infrastructure automation.
• Experience with Cloud Platforms: Experience with major AWS services (EC2, S3, LB, Lambda, VPC, IAM). Experience using Terraform for declarative infrastructure creation and management.
• Experience with Monitoring and Logging Systems: Experience with setting up and using Prometheus and Grafana for metric collection and dashboard creation. Knowledge of Vector for data collection and routing.
• Networking and Security Skills: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPC configuration, and Security Groups in AWS, with experience in firewall configuration and network security management.
• Scripting and Programming Skills: Ability to automate tasks using scripts and programming (Bash, Python).
• Experience with HTTP and APIs: Experience working with HTTP protocols, proxying, RESTful APIs, CDN usage, and load balancing.
• Version Control Systems Experience: Proficiency with GitLab for repository management and collaborative code development.
