Senior Sys Admin Specialist

Job Overview:

UltB is seeking an experienced Senior Sys Admin Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimization of our IT infrastructure, ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support our growing operations and drive efficiency through automation and innovation.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components.
• Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
• Develop and enforce security policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues across the organization.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to support and deploy new applications and services.
• Automate repetitive tasks and processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Find and evaluate infrastructure service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Yandex)
• Stay updated with the latest technology trends and industry best practices, recommending improvements to our IT environment.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, with a strong track record in managing complex IT environments for 5+ years
• Deep knowledge of server administration, networking, and security protocols.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and related services.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Email Servers (IMAP & SMTP):
• Postfix: Knowledge of Postfix for handling SMTP.
• Dovecot: Experience with Dovecot for IMAP and POP3.
• DNS:
• Understanding of DNS configuration and management, particularly for email services (MX records, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, PTR, etc.).
• Containerization:
• Docker: Proficiency in creating, managing, and deploying Docker containers to ensure consistent environments for Mailcow services.
• Web Servers:
• Nginx: Experience with Nginx for reverse proxying, load balancing, and serving static content.
• Configuration Management and Orchestration:
• Ansible: Experience with Ansible for automating the deployment and configuration of servers and services.
• Monitoring and Visualization:
• Grafana: Proficiency in setting up and using Grafana for monitoring server hardware metrics and visualizing data.
• Fluency in English, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Russian is a plus.
• Proficiency in monitoring software (e.g. Grafana, Zabbix).
• Familiarity with coding languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus.
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) is a plus.
• Knowledge of database management and optimization.
• Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment is an advantage.
