About the project:
The main goal of the project is to migrate ORWMS v12 to a more cost-effective infrastructure using Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and Oracle Linux version 9.4. Additionally, it was requested to perform the Database upgrade from 11.2 to the highest suitable version(21c) either in parallel or after the AIX to Linux migration. The project will be divided into three phases: Selection and validation of the target DB/OS version, OS migration and DB upgrade for UAT and UAT Testing support, OS migration and DB upgrade for production environments and Post Go-Live support.
This is a temporary contract for full-time work, lasting 7-8 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Installation and Configuration
- Install, configure, and upgrade database software across different environments (development, testing, production).
- Ensure that databases are set up according to best practices for security, performance, and availability.
- Manage database servers and clusters to provide stable and reliable systems.
- Database Migrations and Upgrades
- Plan and execute database migrations and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to manage and oversee changes to the database infrastructure.
- Provide expertise in operating system and database version migrations.
- Data Integrity and Disaster Recovery
- Implement and manage data backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, including regular testing of failover processes.
- Ensure that the organization’s data assets are protected and recoverable in case of an outage.
- Active Data Guard configuration
- GoldenGate installation and configuration (optional)
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
- Maintain detailed documentation of all database configurations, procedures, and changes.
- Provide knowledge transfer and training to other team members and stakeholders.
- Setup ORWMS v12 Applications:
- Connect the application with the new version of the database.
- Set up and run applications on the new OS.
- Provide support for ORWMS v12 during the testing and support period.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in Database Administration with expertise in database management systems
- Strong knowledge of database backup, recovery, performance tuning, and security protocols.
- Experience with database migrations and upgrades, including OS platform migrations.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document processes.
- Proficiency in English
- Working during TH business hours
