What you’ll do:

• Lead and mentor a talented remote DevOps team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement while working with key stakeholders across Product, Technology, Data, and Security teams.
• Drive the strategic vision for the architecture, deployment, configuration, and maintenance of highly automated, distributed systems designed for resilience and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to prioritise work on Developer Experience, ensuring efficient and effective CI/CD processes that support rapid and reliable delivery of software.
• Oversee the automation and optimization of delivery pipelines, ensuring the team can support multiple daily production deployments with a focus on quality and reliability.
• Partner with Product and development teams to plan, coordinate, and execute the release of new tools and products, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
• Champion best practices in infrastructure management and software development, driving initiatives to maintain high standards of quality, security, and performance.
• Guide the development and maintenance of robust Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform and CloudFormation, promoting reusability, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement and evolve monitoring and alerting strategies that align with modern best practices for a resilient and scalable Service-Oriented Architecture.
• Lead the design and development of a globally distributed, highly available infrastructure, aligning with business needs and future growth.
• Ensure the team meets and exceeds standards for availability, performance, security, and disaster recovery, continuously improving processes and capabilities to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.

• Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, PagerDuty
• Application Programming Languages: Ruby, Python, Javascript, Typescript
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Cloudformation
• CI/CD: Github Actions and Buildkite
• In our day to day, we use a combination of Scrum and Kanban. We operate with a 'just enough' process mentality.

Musts for us to match:

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps/SRE, with at least 3 years in a leadership role: Demonstrated success in managing high-performing DevOps or SRE teams.
• Strong leadership and team management skills: Ability to inspire, mentor, and grow a remote team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Proven experience with Infrastructure-As-Code (IaC): Deep understanding of IaC principles and experience leading teams in implementing robust solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Extensive cloud expertise: Broad experience across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including designing, deploying, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructures.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive approach: Ability to develop and drive strategic initiatives for infrastructure optimization and scalability, providing clear vision and direction.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills: Strong aptitude for diagnosing and resolving complex issues in ambiguous , fast-paced and scaling environments.
• Commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement: Drive for maintaining and enhancing reliability, performance, security, and scalability in all operations.
• Ownership and accountability: Strong sense of ownership over team deliverables and outcomes, with a focus on quality, continuous delivery and elite level DORA metric
• Experience in managing on-call rotations: Ability to organize and participate in an on-call rotation, ensuring 24/7 operational support and incident management.

Nice to have:

• Experience in high-pressure, 24/7 operational IT environments: Proven ability to lead teams in maintaining and supporting mission-critical systems around the clock.
• Blockchain infrastructure management experience: Knowledge of overseeing the deployment and management of blockchain technologies.
• Expertise with global and multi-region services : Experience in architecting, deploying, and managing highly available applications across multiple geographic regions and jurisdictions.
• Experience in scale-up environments with growth spurts: Ability to manage teams effectively in dynamic environments characterized by rapid growth.
• Experience in managing post-merger technological consolidation: Proven track record of leading technology integration efforts during mergers, ensuring seamless consolidation of infrastructure, applications, and processes.
