Role Overview:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a key leadership role in driving operational excellence, overseeing day-to-day operations, and ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the financial industry, particularly in acquiring systems, and a proven track record of managing complex operational processes in regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

Oversee daily operations across all business units, ensuring efficiency, regulatory compliance, and adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs) in line with the high standards of the payment processing industry.

Develop, implement, and monitor operational strategies that align with CapitalPay’s long-term vision and business objectives.

Actively identify bottlenecks in payment processing workflows, settlement operations, and merchant services, implementing scalable solutions to optimize productivity and customer satisfaction.

Strategic Planning and Execution:

Collaborate closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to define and execute strategic goals, ensuring alignment with CapitalPay’s growth priorities and market demands.

Lead cross-functional initiatives focused on enhancing acquiring capabilities, improving merchant experience, and driving sustainable profitability.

Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO on operational matters, providing strategic recommendations for business expansion and risk mitigation.

Acquiring Systems and Payment Infrastructure:

Oversee the management, optimization, and continuous improvement of acquiring systems, payment gateways, and transaction processing platforms.

Implement best-in-class practices for fraud prevention, real-time transaction monitoring, and data security protocols in payment workflows.

Ensure the seamless integration of new technologies, tools, and third-party platforms into existing CapitalPay infrastructure to maintain competitive advantage.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure that all operational processes strictly adhere to local and international financial regulations, including PCI DSS and AML requirements.

Work in close coordination with the Compliance Officer and Risk Management teams to identify, assess, and proactively mitigate operational risks associated with payment processing and acquiring services.

Drive periodic internal and external audits to guarantee compliance readiness and transparency across all operational layers.

Team Leadership and Development:

Build, mentor, and lead high-performing operational teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

Set clear performance goals, track progress, and provide constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Identify training needs and oversee professional development programs to equip team members with the latest industry skills and knowledge.

Client and Partner Relations:

Foster and maintain strong relationships with key merchants, acquiring partners, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities.

Act as a primary point of contact for strategic partners and oversee collaboration agreements to enhance service offerings.

Lead contract negotiations and establish partnerships that optimize operational costs and improve service delivery efficiency.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) tailored to acquiring services, transaction processing efficiency, and merchant satisfaction.

Provide regular operational performance reports to executive leadership, highlighting key trends, challenges, and opportunities.

Utilize data-driven insights to drive informed decision-making and continuous operational improvement.

Technology and Innovation:

Advocate for and oversee the adoption of fintech innovations to enhance acquiring capabilities, operational efficiency, and scalability.

Lead digital transformation initiatives aimed at streamlining merchant onboarding, payment processing, and settlement procedures.

Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure systems remain robust, secure, and capable of supporting growing transaction volumes.

Financial Oversight:

Contribute to annual budgeting and financial forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with CapitalPay’s strategic and operational objectives.

Monitor operational expenses, optimize resource allocation, and enforce cost-efficiency measures across acquiring and payment operations.

Provide detailed financial performance reports related to acquiring services, transaction fees, and operational costs to executive leadership.

Key Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior operational role within the financial industry, specifically in acquiring systems and payment processing.

Strong understanding of financial regulatory frameworks, risk management, and compliance.

Demonstrated experience in optimizing operational workflows and driving efficiency.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Fluent in English and Russian; proficiency in Kazakh is a plus.
