Infrastructure Engineer / Server Engineer (relocate to Japan) / JLPT2

An employer in Kyoto, Japan is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer / Server Engineer. This role involves designing, building, operating, and maintaining network and hosting servers using various cloud platforms (AWS, Sakura Cloud, etc.) as well as in-house infrastructure.

✅ Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build servers and networks
- Operate and maintain servers and networks, including implementing improvements
- Perform data center operations
- Provide technical support by responding to customer inquiries
- Handle alerts from monitoring systems

✅ Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Linux server construction and operation
- Experience with middleware (e.g., Apache, MariaDB, Postfix, Qmail, Dovecot, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Basic understanding of networks (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.)
- Japanese language proficiency at JLPT N2 level or higher

✅ Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience tuning Linux servers and middleware
- Experience with Windows servers and related middleware
- Scripting skills in languages like JavaScript/Node.js, TypeScript, Python, Perl, PHP, Bash
- AWS certification and hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform)
- Experience with serverless environments, GPU server operations, or cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, Sakura Cloud)
- Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Xen, KVM)
- Experience with network device configuration (L2–L7), data center setup, vendor and customer communication

Location: Kyoto, Japan
Work Hours: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM (8-hour workday)
