MuseScore is the world's most popular notation app. We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join the team responsible for developing the MuseScore 4 desktop application. The successful candidate will need to have an advanced understanding of music notation, and the requirements of music performers, composers, and arrangers

Role & Responsibilities
You Will:

 

• Conduct manual testing of MuseScore builds on Windows, macOS, and Linux
• Create bug reports in GitHub
• Review issues from users on GitHub
• Contribute ideas and feedback to the product team

You can bring:

 

• Minimum 1-year experience in manual desktop app testing as a QA engineer
• Experience using bug-tracking systems (Github, Jira etc.)
• Musical background (should understand classical notation and know the basics of musical theory)
• Experience with one of the following music notation applications: Finale, MuseScore, Dorico, Sibelius, Noteflight
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Attention to detail, and a strong capacity for problem-finding advanced understanding of Windows and macOS operating systems

Nice to have:
 

• Experience in making music in DAW (Cubase, ProTools, Logic etc.)
• Professional music education
• Linux OS experience
