Senior Network Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity, robust security, and high performance. This role involves managing network systems, troubleshooting complex issues, mentoring junior staff, and aligning network strategies with the organization’s goals.
Requirements
• High degree (Computer Science, Information Technology)
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are required.
• Position requires 8-10 years of experience in network administration, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
• Expert knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, MPLS, IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
• Hands-on experience in supporting Palo Alto VPN & Firewalls, Cisco Wireless, ISE, Switches and Routers.
• Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG).
• Strong understanding of network security concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS.
• Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
• Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud).
• Experience with network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible).
• Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
• Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Responsibilities:
• Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN, wireless, and cloud-based networks.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.
• Implement and enforce network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
• Maintain up-to-date network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and incident logs.
• Plan and execute network upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal impact on operations.
• Manage network devices such as routers, switches, access points, and load balancers.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate network systems with other IT infrastructure components.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior network staff and participate in their professional development.
• Lead incident response efforts for critical network issues and outages.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to improve network efficiency.
